Yes, it was truly a dream come true. A group of passionate and idealistic amateur radio enthusiasts, who dedicated their valuable time to this wonderful hobby, decided to bring together all the scattered radio operators at Vadakara — to unite, collaborate, and grow together in the spirit of amateur radio. Thus, in 2011, the Amateur Radio and Disaster Communication Society (ARDCS) of Vadakara was born. Over the years, ARDCS has actively organized numerous initiatives, including technical classes,Workshops, awareness sessions, and live demonstrations in various colleges and technical institutions. The club has also been consistently conducting JOTA-JOTI every year, promoting radio communication among young scouts and guides. In 2017, the club launched its simplex VHF net, known as the “Sand Banks Evening Net.” Two years later, in 2019, thanks to the dedication and teamwork of our members, we successfully installed a VHF repeater station at Payamkuttimala, Vadakara (145.825 MHz, -600 kHz shift). The formal inauguration of this repeater took place during the first Vadakara HAM Meet in 2019, which saw the enthusiastic participation of over 200 Hams and SWLs. Encouraged by the success of this event, the second Vadakara HAM Meet was organized in March 2023, drawing participation from over 400 Hams and SWLs from across India. Both HAM Meets were successfully conducted at the Sargaalaya Heritage Village, Vadakara. Inspired by the overwhelming response and valuable suggestions from participants, we are delighted to announce the Vadakara HAM Meet 2026 — a two-day event to be held on January 31 (Saturday) and February 1 (Sunday), 2026. This grand meet will feature technical sessions, exhibitions, an exciting eyeball meet, and cultural programs — a true celebration of technology, friendship, and the spirit of amateur radio. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all Hams across India who have supported and inspired us throughout this journey. Your encouragement continues to be the driving force behind our success.
